You can upcycle your old puzzle pieces and turn them into beautiful home decor crafts like this LOVE banner for Valentine's Day. It's an easy, yet elegant craft and a stunning home decor DIY for holidays, weddings or showers or birthdays. Last night, I cleaned out my art cabinet and came across a bag of red and pink puzzle pieces leftover from my preschool teaching days. I didn't want to throw them away and it is almost Valentine's Day, so I decided to craft with them. Again.
I starting writing a little less than a year ago and before I put my own virtual pen to paper, I had never even read a blog. Of course, once I began linking up at parties and joining the social media scene I started reading many, many blogs. I have spent countless hours each week exposed to some of the most charming homes, jaw dropping DIY projects and awe-inspiring crafts that the internet has to offer.
Knitting is a relaxing, meditative prescription. I find joy in the movement, even if I don't always find the time. So I've decided to make it a priority. I am a knitter...sort of. Actually, it would probably be more accurate to just say that I knit. Stating that I am a knitter connotes some sort of proficiency and that is really not that case. At all.
I am usually a rule follower. I obey stop signs, I don't cut the line and I never bring more than ten items to the express lane. However, when it comes to so called decorating rules, I live outside the law.
I am a very simple girl in most respects. I like jeans, Jeeps and simple home décor. I don't think that this post will leave any doubt in your mind about that fact.
How to make simple ring clip curtains...sew - or no sew - easy. I promise. I have basic sewing skills, very basic , but I do like custom items and I refuse to pay a lot for them, so I make my elementary skills work. I would say that aside from my costuming gig, most of my stitching knowledge has been used to make curtains . Granted, there are many ways to fashion curtains without sewing at all and I am all for that, but sometimes I want a look or a fabric that I cannot readily find. The curtains that hang over my kitchen table are a perfect example.
If you haven't already guessed, I really enjoy decorating my home. I've always been artistic and I suppose my obsession with interior design stems from a need to create something beautiful to look at on a daily basis. In high school, I painted and drew, during college I worked as a merchandiser in retail stores and after grad school, I taught in primary classrooms, where art is king.
Here's how to make an DIY snowflake wreath with plastic Dollar Tree ornaments. It's an easy and an inexpensive way to decorate for Christmas that will carry you through the winter season. All you need is a glue gun and a wreath frame. January is not my favorite month. I'll agree that it's a great month to start fresh and New Year's Eve is always fun. But generally speaking the days are long and cold and there is no big holiday to celebrate. Not even my birthday.
They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself. It's a fabulous sentiment, but harder than it looks! I am not good with New Year's resolutions. I never follow through. I start out with grand intentions, fired up to rip that December page off the calendar and begin anew , but by January 15, the inevitabilities of life kick in and I lose my drive. My brand new calendar usually sits on the counter, mocking me. I don't think I am alone.
