I redecorated my kitchen for free in less than ten minutes at 1am. I was up late, sewing. I do a lot of my best work under the cover of darkness, when no one else is awake, asking for food or a ride. Anyway, I moved my farmhouse island to make more room on the floor to work and when it came time to put it back, I didn't. It looked so good in its new position I left it.
Looking for a little prosperity that you can whip up yourself? Try this easy Italian Prosperity Jar and see what kind of magic you can rustle up! I am a romantic, a dreamer and a true lover of fairy tales. Implausible happy endings are the best part of any story and if there's a little mystery and magic thrown in, even better. In real life however, I am a bit more pragmatic.
Hang a banner over a window and create a no sew valance to add a little interest to your room. Ok, brace yourselves, I have another banner project today. I know, I know, I just can't get enough of these things, but this one is different. I promise! It doesn't involve my kitchen or the hood . It's a no sew valance and I made it for my bedroom, because the colors were right and I am cheap. Wait. I mean frugal...thrifty...you know what I mean.
Memories of an old Fun To Cook cookbook from Carnation and a meatloaf recipe remind of dad. What brings you back in time? The warm weather has finally arrived in my neck of the woods and for some reason the change of season, any season, puts me in a cleaning mood. Depressing isn't it, this is my road to fun? Well, this weekend, looking for a good time, I decided that I'd had just about enough of my terribly disorganized pantry and so I started cleaning out and cleaning up that messy closet.
Dress your door for summer with this super easy sticker sign wreath. Check out the super easy and inexpensive tutorial. Summer is almost here and I can't wait ~ I'm so excited! To welcome the season, I wanted to dress my front door in something whimsical, light, airy and full of the glorious color I dreamt about during those cold, grey days of winter. Last year, I added letters to a wreath and while I love the idea of decorating with words, this year, I was craving a simpler, more rustic look to greet my guests.
You can repair a tear in the arm of a sofa, even if you have limited sewing skills. It's easier than you think, I promise. Just follow these simple steps. So my husband comes into the kitchen last night and tells me that he ripped the sofa. Great. How? I ask. I just leaned on it. I feel like I'm questioning one of the kids.
It's June and school is almost over, thank goodness! This time of year is always filled with the requisite end of the year parties and picnics, the kind of events I used to attend regularly when my kids were younger. Of course, now, as teenagers, the father away I am from school, the better ~ for all parties involved! To illustrate that fact, I want to throw it back to June of 2013, the first time I posted this tale.
It's me again, your easy recipe girl and today I have a great one to share. It's a really simple egg bake, and it's a favorite, because it tastes fabulous and it can be eaten for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Or all three in the same day, if you make enough for leftovers. Now that's my kind of cooking.
Don't keep those crocheted vintage potholders stuffed in a drawer. Lace them up to make a charming banner for display and enjoy the view. The other day, my sister dropped by my house to bring me a little gift. She'd been to an estate sale and found these super charming vintage pot holders for one dollar. In red!
