Before I started blogging, I had never really visited or read another blog. Not one. Not on purpose anyway. In retrospect, I am certain that I must have tripped across a few random posts when I was googling things, but at the time, I did not recognize them as blog sites.

I was pretty clueless.

Of course, now I read blogs all the time, frankly, maybe a little too much! I look forward to seeing new creations, home renovations, crafty ideas and table settings, among many, many other things. I get to read about how life is lived in other parts of the county and "visit" with my new friends on an almost daily basis.

It's much more uplifting than the news and I have to say it's been a totally fabulous and yet completely unexpected aspect of my new hobby.

Speaking of hobbies...one of my favorite blogs, is one you are probably not reading. It's Mom's Hobby Farm, written by my friend Lorri.

Lorri owns a farm and she shares the ins and outs of its daily workings ~ her curbside farm stand, her animals, her greenhouse, what she's planted and what she still has to do. I have always wanted to live on a farm, so I love reading her blog.

She has an easy style and when I read her posts, I feel as if I am walking the property with her, learning, dreaming and laughing. Although, I must admit to being a tad bit tired...it takes a lot of work to run a farm!

Maybe I am a city girl after all....hmmm. A beach girl at the very least. Well, it's fun to romanticize the lifestyle anyway.

So pop on over to say hello, I know that she loves company. Oh and by the way, check out her sidebar, she has a few other blogs about cooking. They are fabulous, too, and she is an amazing chef.

What's the best kept secret blog you know about?

As for me and gardening? Um no. But I do have a few flowering posts.

  3. Thanks Kim, I appreciate your nice comments and new visitors. We are still getting rain and so not too much new is happening here. I have been helping my sister get ready for her daughter's graduation. She has a darling back yard that is a not quite finished yet but I will try to get some pictures to post. this weekend we filled her new planter boxes around her patio and beginning tomorrow I will be making tissue paper pompoms and cupcake wrappers. I will have to let you know how it turns out, both are things that I haven't done before.

  8. I'll check out Lorri's blog. This isn't a "best kept secret" blog (she has over 800 followers), but one of my very favorite blogs is "Far Above Rubies": http://anita-faraboverubies.blogspot.com/. Anita blogs from her lovely home in the North Carolina mountains. I love her down-to-earth blogging style, the "realness" of her life. Just everything about her. She is a gracious, talented woman.
