Upcycle Sharin Facebook Group Monthly Challenge
Hello friends and Happy 2019! I have something a little different to kick off this new year and I hope you enjoy it.

Today, I'm joining my creative partners from our Upcycle Sharin' Facebook group for a challenge where you could win prizes with values up to $150.

The group currently has over 50,000 members, all of whom are avid fans of recycling, reusing and repurposing trash into treasure.

If you are a member, you may have already heard about the challenge, if not, let me explain. Each month, the group will be hosting a upcycle challenge based on a theme. You don't have to be a member of the group to join in or win, but we'd love to have you.

You'll have a chance to post your own project below (either a photo or link to a site~ you do not need to have a blog or website to enter) and if your photo receives the most votes at the end of the month, you win the prize. Simple.

This month's theme is upcycled storage solutions.

Like my old crates. Ok, they were actually brand new crates. A neighbor makes his own wine and they get delivered to him in these cool boxes. My husband spotted a pile of empty ones at the curb this summer and it was love at first sight. We loaded them in the truck and brought them home.

Of course, their fresh, clean wood and particle board sides, didn't exactly scream aged cottage charm...but that was nothing a little watered down paint couldn't fix.

How to finish wooden crates

When I was done with my quick and crafty DIY technique, I was left with beautiful "vintage" style crates that stored pumpkins and flowers in fall...

...and wrapping supplies in winter.

It was a pretty basic DIY, but pretty nonetheless. Trash to treasure.

Now I'm sure I'm not the only one out there with a creative upcycled storage idea. As a matter of fact, I'm willing to bet that you've got one that's much craftier than mine.

If you'd like to share and throw you hat in the ring for a chance to win a fabulous prize, check out the facts below on how to enter...and of course if you have any questions feel free to ask in the comments.

Here are the details!!

  3. What a great challenge, Kim. I will look forward to hearing about others in the future. As of this moment, unless someone is interested in how to store a chihuahua on their lap while typing, I don't have a good one. I do love your boxes though..Happy New Year..xxoJudy

  5. I love your crates! I found some vintage crates years ago and use them to store books. We are book freaks and have way to many, so they are perfect for storage. What a neat challenge! I don't think I can't participate this month -- don't know if I have enough time to be that creative (it usually takes me a while...LOL), but will look for others I can participate in! Love and hugs!
