Are You A Sucker For A Sale?

July 11, 2023

So I'm not really a big shopper.

I guess I used to be, when I was younger.

I could spend hours at the mall, or browsing the aisles of HomeGoods, Lord and Taylor, Tuesday Morning and Pier One.

But no more.

Sadly, so many of those stores are gone and I find that the merchandise just isn't what it was at the shops that are left.

Or maybe I'm not who I was...way back when.

My taste has changed. I tend to shop at second hand stores for decor and in my effort to simplify, I only buy what I need.

And when I do shop for new items, I do the majority of it online.

It's quicker, I can usually find what I need within a few clicks instead of driving all over and everything shows up at my door. Sometimes overnight.

Amazon is usually my first stop. Let's face it, they literally sell everything.

But I'm not usually a sucker for sale, so when they announced Prime Days I put my head in the sand. I had no intention of sharing deals, especially since it seems like everyone else on the planet is doing it.

Plus, I was more excited to show you what I did to my sofa this weekend.

However, curiosity finally got the best of me and I looked and apparently a few of my most popular and most requested items are on sale.

So here I am.

Normally, when I buy something, or see something, I love on Amazon, I try to add it to my collection, which is organized by category. So you can peek at my shop if you like, but just be aware that not everything there is on sale.

I'm sharing the sales items below.

Of course, you need to have an Amazon Prime Membership to get the sales prices. Not a member, no worries, you can check it out for free for 30 days right here

Now there are lots of great deals over there today, but I really only like to recommend what I know, so that's what I'm sharing today.

Ok, so what if you're not a big Amazon fan. Well, no worries.

There are plenty of other retailers having sales today to compete.

 Lucky us!!

Well, lucky me. Like I said, I'm not a big shopper, but when you need, you need.

Especially when there's a sale. 😉 So maybe I am a sucker for a sale after all.

For example, these are the most comfortable sneakers I've ever worn and they are on sale now. I'll be getting an extra pair and maybe one in all the colors.

I also use this mixer every day...and I've never seen a better price. It's turning me into a actual baker and making my waistline a lot bigger in the process (but we won't talk about that right now).

And while I only drink hot water (to offset all those baked goods this is the only accessory I allow on my counter...and only because it's red. Well that and my family uses it every day.

Also, I've been blogging on this same computer since 2013 and it's running on fumes. I've had my eye on this one and since it's on sale now....well, you know.

And while I've been a steadfast Apple girl for about a decade, I'm thinking I might go back to my roots, because this looks like fun!!

Ok. Well, I think that's all I've got for you today when it comes to sales and shopping.

Tune in again on Thursday, because I did something a little crazy to my new couch and I can't wait to share it with you.

In the meantime, I hope it's sunny where you are and you're enjoying a little summertime magic.
Boy oh boy, this season is just flying by...

Happy Shopping friends!

  1. I still love me a HomeGoods or TJ Maxx to shop but I have to admit I do a lot of shopping on line at Amazon with my prime membership. Happy Tuesday have a great week. Hugs. Kris

    1. I wish our HomeGoods and TJ Maxx stores were still good, Kris, sounds like you have great stores. The merchandise in ours is sparse and it’s so disorganized. We were at both this weekend and left empty handed…which is a shame, because as a shopper, I love touching the items and seeing them in person. Maybe some new shops will pop up!! In the meantime, like you said, there’s online!! Have a great week!!

  2. I do lots of shopping on Amazon--it is my go-to and I can find just about anything I need there--and with free shipping--it's a win/win. Love all your sweet products here, Kim. I hope you have a wonderful night- xo Diana

    1. I agree, Diana. It is a win-win…and a little dangerous. Today while I was grabbing my links I bought a milk frother for my daughter for 7 bucks. It’ll be here by 8am. Not bad. Haha! I hope you have a lovely week!!

  3. Well, you my dear are a bad influence! I just came from Amazon where I ordered some things. And thanks to you I'm going back. Going to get that pill shaver for sure, as I've meant to get it for awhile. We'll see what else I find!

  4. I like going out looking at discount shops or vintage style shops. It's almost like they have become a past time or a way to pass the time for me. Now I ride more to places where I can picnic, see some historical houses, gardens etc. I do buy some from Amazon not a lot. I try to steer clear and mostly do of Dollar tree. Shopping local and handmade here I try to do more of. That peel and stick wallpaper in your pantry is so nice looking. I am curious to see or hear if it stays on well as I am thinking about some.

    1. I was at Dollar Tree yesterday, Betsy. It was not good…I walked in needed a card and walked out $48 in the hole. Haha!! However, I did get about 40 items! The peel and stick wallpaper is amazing. I’ve heard stories about it falling down, but the brand I bought has held up very well. It’s still solidly in place and I should note that our pantry is OLD. The walls are from the 1920’s and they’re not straight and they weren’t recently primed or painted. I hope that helps!

  5. Kim, my daughter and I love ordering items from Amazon. It comes so fast and you don't have to leave the house. I still love shopping in stores for clothes because I need to try everything on. P.S. I miss shopping at Dollar Tree and I'll have to see next month what I can find for fall.

    1. Dollar Tree is great, Julie. I still can't believe there's not one close to you. I went there the other day for a card and I left $48 dollars poorer! Haha! It's a dangerous place...hahaha!!

  8. Kim,
I am not an Amazon shopper as I find them to be expensive and we can find better deals on what we are looking for in the brick and Mortar stores that are only 5 minutes from our house as we live right by one of the largest shopping areas in our County here in Pa. But I am very blessed to have that advantage where i know most do not...Clearance sales in the stores are what I shop and Dollar tree which has lately really upped their game in my book...I hope you are staying coll my friend and thanks so much for your visits!!!
    Hugs,
    Deb

    1. Deb, Dollar Tree is truly my nemesis when it comes to shopping. I can't spend less that $40 every time I walk into that store. I just bought the most darling red bowls and I'm a sucker for all their paper journals and markers. Unfortunately, so many of the home stores around here have closed. When it comes to curtains and bedding, there's not a lot, I wish Dollar Tree would sell that stuff!! Haha!! Enjoy the week!
