Today I am over at Parade Magazine again. I have an article there detailing five easy ways you can use your leftover fabric scraps. You see, I have become a bit of a fabric junkie in recent years. I have bags of colorful material just waiting to be used for projects big and small.
Here we go again! If you have been reading my blog from the beginning, you may be having a bit of deja vu and no you are not crazy, I did write about this project before . However, when I featured it the first time, the sign was ~ big surprise ~ red! Well now, just about a decade later, I am going for a lighter look in my kitchen and that red sign was kind of dragging my vision down.
Here's my super simple sweet potato pancake recipe. It's not fancy, but it's always a crowd pleaser. Perfect for even the pickiest eaters and a warm side dish on chilly evenings. Today I had a "Oops" moment, that turned into a wonderful 'Oh my!" I love it when that happens! I started roasting a chicken for dinner and decided that it would be yummy to make sweet potato fries as one of the side dishes. Well, I have never made sweet potato fries before and when I tried to cut them up, I made a mess.
Want a pretty, custom curtain that you can whip up in a jiffy? Well, I've got just the one for you! It's this sweet ribbon valance and, trust me, anyone can make it and you don't even need to know how to sew! I promise!
My new article is up at Parade Magazine! Are you looking for some budget ways to update your home? Well, then you must head over to Parade and check out my new piece . Of course, if you like what you see, feel free to pin, share and comment!
Add some flair to your decor with this very simple DIY. Add tulip petals to a glass hurricane and drop in a candle...here's the inside scoop. The snow may still be on the ground, but the tulips are on the table and that makes me happy! A few weeks ago, I had a vase of pretty pink ones on the nightstand in my bedroom and it really brightened the entire space. Of course, when I went back to the grocery store this week, they were all of out of pink.
I am a house and home junkie. I am drawn to photos of pretty kitchens, articles detailing historic home renovations and landscape design, heck, I've been know to pick up the cabinet and window brochures in Home Depot just for the inspiration and ideas! I am that addicted.
I guess it's normal when you hit a milestone birthday or anniversary to look back and say, "remember when?" I have found that blogging is no different. As this week marks the one year anniversary of Exquisitely Unremarkable, I found myself feeling nostalgic. And started peeking back, as well.
I am so excited! It's a big week here at Exquisitely Unremarkable and I can't wait to tell you why!
