Quick, Easy And Inexpensive Ways To Decorate For Spring
Oh spring, spring. Wherefore art thou spring? This is the thought that's been running through my head several times a day since March arrived. In like a lion and all that jazz.

A little dramatic? Yes, probably.

But I'm impatient and ready for warmer, sunnier, flower filled days and Mother Nature is not cooperating. Again.

That's ok though, just because it's not spring outside yet, doesn't mean I can't force a bit of spring inside with a few quick and easy decorating tips.

And since almost everything I do around here costs less than ten bucks, my ideas is budget friendly, too.

Quick, Easy And Inexpensive Ways To Decorate For Spring

Flowers, Flowers, Flowers

Bring on the color!

Multicolored Tulips For Spring Decorating

One of my favorite ways to bring a little spring inside is by grabbing a bouquet of flowers at the grocery store and watching them bloom in my kitchen. Daffodils, for example, add instant sunshine for about two bucks a bushel.

They're simple and sweet and change the entire mood of the room with their subtle smiles.

Of course, if you're looking for a more powerful punch of color, then for about five bucks you can pick up a bouquet of my all time favorite flowers, tulips. And no need to spend any money on a fancy new vase, they look great in just about any kind of container.

Place them in a pitcher, a bucket, even an old boot to prep for April showers.

Front Door Decor

Welcome guests with something fresh!

DIY Wooden Fan Blade Welcome Sign

If you're like me, by the time March rolls around, you're ready for something new to grace your front door. Pack up those snowflakes and evergreen wreaths. It's time to bring on the floral wreaths. Hit the craft store for some bright blooms and you can have something new on your door in no time.

If wreaths aren't really your thing, how about thinking outside the box and adding a wooden sign with dollars store daisies? Think outside the box and come up with something that suits your style.

Add A Banner

Add a little whimsy!

Easter Bunner Fabric Banner DIY

With Easter just around the corner, spring is the perfect time to decorate a mantle, window or kitchen hood with a banner. They're just so darling, who can resist their charm?

Banners are super simple to make, whether you used old fabric to whip up a few cottontails, or yarn to make a carrot banner, they're sure to make you forget all about that chill outside.

Start A Garden...Indoors

Get your hands in the dirt!

Upcycled Tea Tins As Indoor Flower Pots

There's no reason to wait to get your hands dirty just because your garden is covered in snow. I say, start planting inside! It doesn't matter if you go with vegetables, flowers or herbs or if you plant seeds or cell packs.

Just gather a few containers like old upcycled tins or decaled DIY tea cups, a little potting soil and get your springtime gardening fix without worrying about Jack Frost making a late appearance.

Sprinkle Some Seed Packets Around

Add a little vintage flair!

Vintage Seed Packet Prints

Seed packets have always been a harbinger of spring. Their bold patterns and bright hues are a perfect ode to spring. There are so many ways to use them to dress your home and whether you choose to use artist renderings or the real thing, you can't go wrong.

Display or frame a large seed packet print or a grouping of them on a gallery wall, string up several packets to make a seasonal banner or decoupage them onto a bucket, vase or mason jar. They'd even look great mounted on an old wooden board.

And there you have it, fabulously quick, easy and cheap ways to welcome spring to your home.

Which ones will you choose?

  6. Lots of cute ideas. Well our 8-12 predicted ended up being 8. Gonna be 40 on Wednesday with rain expected. Maybe it will wash away all the white stuff. I am going to have to get some flowers at the grocery store. I don't do that nearly often enough.

    1. Eight inches of snow still seems pretty significant to me, Lorri! Yikes! We got hit with a few on Monday and it's still hanging around. Right now there's some rain outside, but it keeps freezing. I'm hoping that as the day goes on the rest of the snow will melt, but until that happens I'll just keep staring at my pretty flowers.

I decorated for Spring :-) it makes me smile. I have a fun Artisan Easter Egg project I am going to do with my son Atticus. I will post when we complete the project in a few weeks.
I do want to do a wreath for outside.. but we still have lots of snow, ice and I have not been able to get all my winter outdoor taken care off. LOL

  12. All darling ideas Kim! We are still buried in snow and I am so ready for spring. Usually the 1st of March I head to our local grocery store and buy lots of spring plants and pot them for my porch. Haven't done a thing yet this year. May not happen for a while. I love your sweet bunny banner. It just makes me smile!

  13. Kim, all of your creations are so sweet and pretty. I remember when you did the little bunny banner and since I had the same banner wanted to do something with mine. That was last year, I think, and I never got to it, now I can't remember where I put the banner! I'll keep looking and just keep drooling over yours..Happy Monday..xxoJudy

  14. I just love your hello sign, and what a cute way to display it, by hanging it from the door! Of course, flowers are always my favorites too, although I need to shop where you do to find tulips for $5.00, lol... they're closer to $10 here! I always love your banners, and you've reminded me I should get busy doing one for spring! Officially spring is neither here by the calendar, nor by the weather, but we are looking forward to 50+ degrees next week, which should help it feel more springlike! Always enjoy your inspirational, and economical inspirations :)

    1. Thanks so much, Marilyn, I do enjoy decorating for spring...but only when it's easy and cheap to do so! I'm glad you find my ideas inspiring. I don't know why our tulips are so cheap here, but I'm glad they are. Roses are very inexpensive, too. I can get a small bouquet of them for about $5 and a double dozen for about $15. It was funny to watch those prices triple around Valentine's Day. I told my husband, no need. That was just crazy!! Happy spring!
